Special Odeuropa visit in the Olfasense laboratories!
We are happy to host Dr Cecilia Bembibre in our laboratories this week.
Cecilia is a lecturer and researcher at the UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage, and part of the multidisciplinary team in the Horizon 2020 Odeuropa project, which aims to create a digital library of historical European smells.
You can check out our original post about this project via: Olfasense is collaborating partner in Odeuropa project or visit odeuropa.eu directly to find out more.
During her stay at the Olfasense labs, Cecilia is conducting some research as part of the collaboration with the Odeuropa project, including some very interesting measurements. In fact, as part of the study, the interior smell of a 1973 Land Rover used by Queen Elizabeth II is being investigated using GC-Sniffing, with the guidance of our expert in molecular odour identification Dr Luciano Vera.
A truly unique project!
Olfasense is happy to contribute its know-how and capabilities in odour identification, including GC-MS and GC-Sniffing, as one of Odeuropa’s main collaborating partners.
In addition, we had an interesting conversation on how collaboration between academia and industry, as it is currently taking place in the Odeuropa project, can be expanded to the wider field of cultural (olfactory) heritage research.
Thanks, Cecilia for being our special guest this week!
